X-axis: Percentage of Students scoring 1500 or above on the SATs (number of students scoring 1500 or above/ number of 12th graders)

Size of Circle: Represents the number of 12th graders in the school district

According to the CollegeBoard: "The SAT Benchmark score of 1550 is associated with a 65 percent probability of obtaining a first year GPA (FYGPA) of a B or higher, which in turn is associated with a high likelihood of college success."

Bottom Line: Many students are graduating from high school but are not ready for college
